In 2013, BTS dreamed of making music history and earning their place in the hall of fame. These dreams have now come true but in reality everything has its price.
In episode 5 of Break The Silence, BTS continued their LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF tour while sharing their deepest thoughts.
Suga’s confession about his popularity and what he paid for can break your heart.
Suga confessed that he is envious of people who can do normal activities like eating out because he can no longer do normal things in life as a public figure.
“I really envy people who can eat out, travel, go to the movies with friends and stuff like that. Those things are really special to me because I find them hard to do. Some members do those activities, but I don’t because I don’t have many friends,” Suga confided.
Suga also shared, “Doing those things is not easy, so they are really special to me. I envy others. The more you gain, the more you lose and vice versa. It is the loss of the most ordinary and this is the biggest change”.
“What is normal to others is special to me, while what is special to others is very normal to me. Before you know it, your values for everything will change. How you see the world with your values. That’s when the most mundane things matter,” Suga shared.
In a previous episode, Jin shared similar thoughts, revealing that fame had cost him his friendships and that he had to live a double life: BTS’s Jin and Kim Seokjin.
As Suga said, fame has to be traded with the most ordinary and simple things in life.
However, he did not have to face this loss alone. He got 6 extraordinary friendships from 6 extraordinary boys in BTS, who stood by him until the very end.
